Section Formula Calculator

The section formula is a mathematical formula used to find the coordinates of a point that divides a line segment into two parts, given the coordinates of the endpoints and the ratio in which the line segment is divided.

A line segment with endpoints A(x₁, y₁) and B(x₂, y₂), and we want to find the coordinates of a point P that externally divides the line segment in the ratio m:n. Then, the coordinates of P can be found using the following formula

Px = (mx₂ - nx₁) / (m - n)
Py = (my₂ - ny₁) / (m - n)
