Aloo Chaat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes, boiled and cubed 🥔
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 🧅
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped 🍅
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped 🌶️
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves 🌿
  • 1/4 cup tamarind chutney 🍅
  • 1/4 cup mint chutney 🌿
  • 1/4 cup sev (crunchy chickpea noodles) 🍟
  • Chaat masala, to taste 🧂
  • Red chili powder, to taste 🌶️
  • Roasted cumin powder, to taste 🌿
  • Salt, to taste 🧂
  • Lemon juice, to taste 🍋
  • Oil, for frying (optional) 🍳

Instructions:

  1. If you prefer crispy potatoes, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the boiled and cubed potatoes and fry until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil on paper towels and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the fried or boiled potatoes, finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves.
  3. Add tamarind chutney and mint chutney to the bowl, according to your taste preference.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and salt over the mixture. Toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.
  5. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the Aloo Chaat for an extra tangy flavor.
  6. Transfer the Aloo Chaat to a serving dish or individual plates.
  7. Garnish the Aloo Chaat with sev (crunchy chickpea noodles) for added crunch and texture.
