Boston Cream Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour 🌾

  • 3 large eggs 🥚
  • 1 cup granulated sugar 🍚
  • 1/2 cup whole milk 🥛
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 🧈

  • 1 cup heavy cream 🥛
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, for dusting 🍧
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 🍫
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 🧈
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream 🥛

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
  5. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread the whipped cream over one of the cooled cake layers. Top with the remaining cake layer.
  11. In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream.
  12. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  13. Refrigerate the Boston Cream Pie for at least 1 hour before serving.
  14. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
