Dum Paneer Kali Mirch Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams paneer, cut into cubes
- 1 cup yogurt, whisked
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, crushed
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing
Instructions:
- Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste to the pan and sauté for a couple of minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
- Add crushed black peppercorns, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Mix well.
- Add whisked yogurt to the pan and stir continuously to prevent curdling.
- Once the masala is cooked and the ghee separates, add paneer cubes to the pan and mix gently.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let the Dum Paneer Kali Mirch cook on low heat for about 8-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Once done, garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
