1. Annual Financial Statement (AFS)
The Annual Financial Statement (AFS) shows the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Government of India for 2024-25 along with estimates for 2023-24 and actuals for 2022-23. It includes the Consolidated Fund of India, the Contingency Fund of India, and the Public Account of India.
2. Demands for Grants (DG)
The Demands for Grants are presented to the Lok Sabha along with the Annual Financial Statement. In 2024-25, there are 102 Demands for Grants, each detailing the 'voted' and 'charged' expenditure, 'revenue' and 'capital' expenditure, and the grand total on a gross basis.
3. Finance Bill
The Finance Bill details the imposition, abolition, remission, alteration, or regulation of taxes proposed in the Budget. It also contains other provisions relating to the Budget that could be classified as a Money Bill.
4. Fiscal Policy Statements under FRBM Act, 2003
- Macro-Economic Framework Statement: Contains an assessment of the growth prospects of the economy along with underlying assumptions.
- Medium-Term Fiscal Policy cum Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement: Sets out three-year rolling targets for specific fiscal indicators in relation to GDP.
5. Explanatory Documents
- Expenditure Budget: Shows the estimates made for a scheme/programme on a net basis on Revenue and Capital basis.
- Receipt Budget: Provides details of tax and non-tax revenue receipts and capital receipts and explains the estimates.
- Expenditure Profile: Aggregates various types of expenditure and certain other items across demands.
- Budget at a Glance: Provides a snapshot of the entire Budget, including receipts, expenditure, the fiscal deficit, the revenue deficit, and the primary deficit.
- Memorandum Explaining the Provisions in the Finance Bill: Contains explanations and justifications for the provisions included in the Finance Bill.
- Output Outcome Monitoring Framework: Provides the outcomes and outputs expected from the various schemes and projects funded by the Budget.
