Kadhai Paneer Recipe 🍽️
Ingredients:
- 200 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into cubes 🧀
- 2 onions, finely chopped 🧅
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 🍅
- 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise 🌶️
- 1 capsicum (bell pepper), cut into cubes 🌶️
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 🧄
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 🌿
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds, crushed 🌿
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 🌿
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder 🌶️
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder 🌿
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 🌿
- Salt, to taste 🧂
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 🌿
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing 🌿
Instructions:
- Heat vegetable oil in a kadhai or wok over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions to the kadhai and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Sauté for a minute until the raw aroma disappears.
- Add chopped tomatoes to the kadhai and cook until they are soft and mushy.
- Add crushed coriander seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to the kadhai. Mix well and cook the masala until the oil starts to separate from the sides.
- Add cubed capsicum (bell pepper) to the kadhai and sauté for a few minutes until they are slightly softened.
- Gently add paneer cubes to the kadhai and mix well with the masala.
- Sprinkle garam masala over the kadhai paneer and mix gently.
- Let the kadhai paneer simmer for 5-7 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to blend together.
- Garnish the kadhai paneer with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve the aromatic and flavorful kadhai paneer hot with naan, roti, or rice!
