Malai Paneer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams paneer, cut into cubes 🧀
  • 1 cup heavy cream (malai) 🥛
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 🧅
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 🍅
  • 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise 🌶️
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 🧄
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder 🌶️
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 🌿
  • Salt, to taste 🧂
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing 🌿
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil 🌿

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee or vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  3. Add finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Mix well with the onion-tomato mixture.
  7. Pour in the heavy cream (malai) and stir until well combined with the masala.
  8. Cook the mixture for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  9. Add paneer cubes to the pan and gently stir to coat them with the creamy masala.
  10. Simmer the Malai Paneer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  11. Garnish the Malai Paneer with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Serve the hot and creamy Malai Paneer with naan, roti, or rice.
