Matar Paneer Recipe

🍛Matar Paneer Recipe🍛

Ingredients:🥕

  • 200 grams paneer, cubed
  • 1 cup green peas (matar), fresh or frozen
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 green chili, slit lengthwise
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions:🌶️

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  3. Add finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and slit green chili. Sauté for a couple of minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  5. Add tomato puree to the pan. Cook until it thickens and the raw smell disappears.
  6. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Mix well to combine with the onions and tomatoes.
  7. Add cubed paneer and green peas to the pan. Mix well to coat them with the spice mixture.
  8. Cover the pan with a lid and let the mixture simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the peas are cooked through and the flavors meld together.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala powder over the Matar Paneer. Mix well to incorporate.
  10. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  11. Garnish the Matar Paneer with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
  12. Serve hot Matar Paneer with naan, roti, or rice for a satisfying meal!
