Methi Chaman Recipe

Methi Chaman Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams fresh fenugreek leaves (methi), washed and chopped 🌿
  • 200 grams paneer, cubed 🧀
  • 2 onions, finely chopped 🧅
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 🍅
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 🧄
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped 🌶️
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 🌿
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder 🌶️
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 🌿
  • Salt, to taste 🧂
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil or ghee 🌿
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing 🌿

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili to the pan. Sauté for a couple of minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Mix well.
  6. Add chopped fenugreek leaves to the pan and cook until they wilt and become tender.
  7. Once the fenugreek leaves are cooked, add paneer cubes to the pan. Mix gently to coat the paneer with the masala.
  8. Cover the pan and let the Methi Chaman simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  9. Once done, garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  10. Serve hot with roti, paratha, or rice.
