Mushroom Do Pyaza Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams mushrooms, cleaned and sliced π
- 2 onions, thinly sliced and separated into layers π§
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped π
- 2 green chilies, chopped πΆοΈ
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste π§
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds πΏ
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder πΏ
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder πΆοΈ
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder πΏ
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala πΏ
- Salt, to taste π§
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing πΏ
- 2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil πΏ
Instructions:
- Heat ghee or vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
- Add chopped green chilies and ginger-garlic paste to the pan. SautΓ© for a minute.
- Add thinly sliced onions and cook until they turn translucent.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Mix well with the onion-tomato mixture.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and mix well with the masala.
- Cover the pan and let the mushrooms cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the mushrooms are cooked and the gravy thickens, add the separated onion layers to the pan.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Garnish the Mushroom Do Pyaza with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve the hot and flavorful Mushroom Do Pyaza with roti, naan, or rice.
