Paneer Pasanda Recipe

Ingredients:

For the paneer filling:

  • 200 grams paneer, cut into thick slices πŸ§€
  • 2 tablespoons cashew nuts, finely chopped πŸ₯œ
  • 2 tablespoons raisins πŸ‡
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 🌿
  • Salt, to taste πŸ§‚

For the marinade:

  • 1/2 cup yogurt πŸ₯›
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste πŸ§„
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder 🌢️
  • Salt, to taste πŸ§‚

For the gravy:

  • 1 onion, finely chopped πŸ§…
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped πŸ…
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste πŸ§„
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 🌿
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder 🌢️
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala 🌿
  • 1/2 cup cream πŸ₯›
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil 🌿
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnishing 🌿

Instructions:

For the paneer filling:

  1. In a bowl, mix together chopped cashew nuts, raisins, garam masala, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Take a slice of paneer and make a pocket in the center without cutting it completely.
  3. Stuff the paneer slice with the cashew-raisin mixture. Repeat for all paneer slices.

For the marinade:

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Coat the stuffed paneer slices with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

For frying the paneer:

  1. Heat ghee or vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the marinated paneer slices until they are golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.

For the gravy:

  1. In the same pan, add chopped onions and sautΓ© until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sautΓ© for another minute.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  4. Add cream to the pan and mix well with the masala.
  5. Cook the gravy for a few minutes until it thickens.

Assembling:

  1. Place the fried paneer slices in the gravy and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Serving:

Serve the hot and creamy Paneer Pasanda with naan, roti, or rice.
