Ingredients:🌶️

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (for color)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
  • Fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges, for garnishing

Instructions:🥕

  1. In a large bowl, mix together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, tandoori masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, turmeric powder, and salt to form a marinade.
  2. Make deep cuts or slashes in the chicken pieces to allow the marinade to penetrate.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to marinate.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat.
  5. If using an oven, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the marinated chicken pieces on the wire rack.
  6. If using a grill, grease the grill grates and arrange the chicken pieces directly on the grill.
  7. Brush the chicken pieces with oil or melted butter.
  8. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or grill them for 10-15 minutes on each side, until they are cooked through and charred on the edges.
  9. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven or grill.
  10. Garnish the Tandoori Chicken with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
  11. Serve hot Tandoori Chicken with naan bread, rice, or salad, along with mint chutney and onion slices on the side!
